About the coalition

Texans for the Right to Read is a grassroots coalition of concerned Texas residents and voters organized by the Texas Library Association.

The coalition was formed after elected officials began to target materials in Texas libraries that they subjectively deem inappropriate.

The purpose of the coalition is to educate the public and oppose any current or future legislation or executive orders that infringe upon First Amendment rights and intellectual freedom.
